Chapter 5

How to start a conversation?

If it’s your lucky day, she may respond to your smile. However, be cautious, it’s not a guarantee, remain calm and resist the urge to act hastily!

Now begins the delicate part of your task: she might be alone, with a female friend, or in a group.

How should you handle the situation?

(If she’s with a man and doesn’t seem disinterested, avoid pushing further.)

If she’s genuinely interested, she may take the initiative and stand up. Naturally, you’ll discreetly follow her and strike up a conversation under some pretext.

However, based on my experience, it’s often better not to wait and instead create an opportunity.

This is where your imagination will be put to the test. You can:

Ask the waiter to bring her a glass of champagne or wine on your behalf… (Very classy).

While walking past her, pretend to pick up a pen (for instance) and ask if it belongs to her. Be careful not to choose a valuable pen, as if she responds with “Yes, it’s mine, thank you” and keeps it, you’ll be the one caught in an awkward situation.

Approach her and say, “Is that you, Vanessa? How have you been? It’s been so long!”

Or, “Yes, I recognize you. You’re the doctor’s secretary…”

Often, old tricks still work best. I’m confident you’ll find plenty more ideas that suit your personality.

Even if she sees through the ruse, she’ll likely forgive you. Rarely will a woman fault you for trying! Instead, she’ll likely be flattered.

Also, be aware that she may not be waiting for someone. However, if she’s with a female friend, introduce yourself kindly to both women and invite them for a drink together.

If the husband or boyfriend is coming, don’t be upset! Approach him and walk away confidently, saying, “Ah, I was just flirting with your girlfriend.” Then, in a low voice, add, “I must congratulate you; she is truly beautiful.” He will likely be flattered, and it will defuse any potential anger.

I’ve never encountered aggressive responses using this approach, so it tends to work. Bid them both farewell by offering a polite greeting.

Starting a conversation with a woman can be nerve-wracking, but with some confidence and genuine interest, you can make a positive impression. Here are some tips on how to start a conversation with a woman:

Approach with a friendly and open demeanor: Smile, make eye contact, and approach her with a relaxed and confident body language. This will help create a welcoming atmosphere.

Use a genuine and friendly greeting: Begin the conversation with a simple and friendly greeting, such as “Hi,” “Hello,” or “Hey.” Make sure to speak clearly and warmly.

Make an observation or comment about your surroundings: Look for something in your immediate environment that you can comment on or ask a question about. It could be a piece of artwork, the music playing, or an interesting detail in the venue. This can serve as a natural conversation starter.

Ask an open-ended question: Engage her in conversation by asking an open-ended question that invites a thoughtful response. For example, you can ask about her opinion on a current event, a book she’s reading, or her favorite aspect of the venue or event you’re both attending.

Find common interests: Discover shared interests by asking about hobbies, favorite movies or TV shows, or activities she enjoys. This can help you establish common ground and build a more engaging conversation.

Be a good listener: Show genuine interest in what she has to say by actively listening and responding thoughtfully. Ask follow-up questions and show that you value her perspective.

Avoid controversial or sensitive topics initially: Keep the conversation light and positive, especially in the beginning. Avoid topics that might be polarizing or too personal until you have established a better rapport.

Be yourself and project confidence. Authenticity is attractive for Women and helps build a genuine connection.

Starting a conversation is just the first step. Pay attention to her responses and adapt accordingly. If she seems engaged and interested, continue the conversation and explore deeper topics. If she seems disinterested or gives short answers, respect her cues and gracefully exit the conversation.

Respect and genuine interest are key to building a meaningful connection
